Marcel Iures made his screen debut in the 1978 film enitled Vis de Ianuarie, in which he played the role of Franz Lizt. For the next few years he appeared in minor / major roles mainly in Romanian films. It was not until Hollywood beckoned him in the early
nineties that his talent as a film actor was noticed outside of Eastern Europe.

In 1996 Marcel had a small minor role in the film Mission Impossible, in which he played the part of Alexander Golitsyn, an Eastern European. This was then followed by the 1997 film, The Peacemaker, in which he magnificently played the role of Dusan Gavrich, a grief stricken Eastern European heading
to East 44 street, New York.

Throughout the late 1990s and into the 2000s, Marcel's film career especially in Western films has been mainly roles associated with his ethnic background of being an Eastern European. One's worth noting are Hart's War (2002) in which he brillently played Camp Commandent Cornel Werner Vissser. Goal! (2005) in the role of Newcastle United football Manager and Isolation (2005) in which he played the role of European
scientist "John".

A change in direction in his film career came about in the late 2000s. When he did his first ever voice over for Disney studios, in the film animation cars. (Romanian version). This was closely followed by the film role in - Pirates of the Caribbean 3 At World's End.(2007)
in which he played a French Pirate Lord. Capitaine Chevelle. This then resulted him in doing the voice over in the P.O.T.C. 3 computer game, yet another first in his most successful and extensive career

In May 2008 during an interview Marcel Iures stated that he would like to become a film producer (another career in the making for Marcel in the film industry - who knows?). In the meantime Marcel still to this present day continues to star in minor and major roles in both Romanian and Western movies.
